It's great to be able to listen to music on your phone, and many people are now ditching their MP3 player in favour of their mobile. It can be difficult to settle upon a program to play your tunes though, with such a wide choice around. There's a lot of bad audio players out there, but thankfully FILVN isn't one of them.
The program boasts all the finesse of some of the top MP3 players on the market, with a gleaming interface that's easy to navigate, lots of cool playback features, plus support for a wide range of different audio formats.
Of course, you get all the basic playback controls you'd expect (play, pause, stop, volume control, etc.) but the beauty of this app is that it maps them to the keys on your phone for your comfort. There are a few different playback modes, such as Random and Repeat that add to the overall listening experience, and searching your phone for music is a doddle with FIVN, as it quickly lits all the music directories on your device.
Another major boon of the software is its support for audio formats. The player can handle all of the major ones, including MP3, MP4, WAV and AMR. You can even play Ogg Vorbis files, though you'll have to download a separate plug-in to do so.
It lacks any visualisations, which is something I always like to see in an audio player. That said, it does include a rather cool 'Background' mode, where just the track name and artist of the song playing is displayed subtly on your phone's screen.
If you want a simple, no-nonsense audio player with support for a wide range of file formats, then FIVN ticks all the right boxes.
